Basin stand or washstand console
A basin stand holds a single basin on slim legs. The Regent basin comes on the slim Charlotte stand or the wider Hampton stand, and the Carlyon large basin sits on turned legs with a glass shelf beneath for towels.
A console gives you far more surface. The Regent 1000mm console basin sits on a Charlotte console stand or a pair of ceramic legs, and the Troon console unit pairs a metal frame with a composite top in Concrete, Carrara White Gloss, Nimbus Grey or White Satin, with an under counter Radcliffe basin set into it.
Matching the metalwork
Stands come in chrome, antique gold, polished nickel, brushed nickel and brushed brass. Chrome takes around a week; the other finishes are made to order in roughly four weeks, and the Troon console takes three to four weeks. Our guide to bathroom tap finishes explains how each one looks and wears.
Is a basin stand good for a small cloakroom?
It can be. The Astoria Deco cloak basin and stand is 520mm wide, with a towel rack or glass shelf beneath. There are more space-saving options in our small basins and vanity units.
Is the trap included?
No. Tap and waste are sold separately, and on the Troon console the trap is too. Because the trap is on show, we recommend a matching Imperial traditional basin trap in the same finish as the stand.
How does a stand compare with a pedestal?
A pedestal hides the pipework completely, while a stand shows it but keeps the floor clear. See our basins and pedestals or the full bathroom basins range, and book a free one-to-one consultation through our contact page if you would like help deciding.
