Double-Ended Baths

A double-ended bath has both ends shaped the same, with the waste in the middle, so you can lie back at either end or share the bath with someone else. It is the most popular freestanding bath shape, and we offer it in cast iron, composite stone and acrylic.

Choose from roll tops on feet, boat baths on plinths and modern oval and fluted designs, from 1500mm to 1800mm long.

Buying guides

Why choose a double-ended bath?

With the waste in the centre, both ends are equally comfortable, so there is no 'tap end'. That makes a double-ended bath ideal for sharing and easy to place in the middle of a room, where it looks the same from every angle.

Traditional, boat or modern

  • Roll tops on feet, such as the Bentley cast iron double-ended bath, give a classic Victorian look.
  • Boat baths on a plinth, like the Radison and the Audra, have raised, curved ends and a solid base.
  • Modern and textured designs, including the Eliza, the Ginette with its fluted exterior and the diamond-textured Fayre, suit contemporary rooms.

Where do the taps go on a double-ended bath?

Usually in the middle of one long side. Use a floor-standing bath shower mixer, wall-mounted taps, or, on models such as the Bentley that come with two tap holes, a deck-mounted mixer on the rim. Browse our bath taps and bath shower mixers.

How much space does a double-ended bath need?

Most are 1700mm to 1800mm long and 700mm to 800mm wide. For a smaller room, the Hettie and Ginette come in 1500mm lengths, and the Dovedale in 1540mm. Leave room around the bath to clean and walk past. See our small baths for more compact options.

Cast iron or acrylic?

Cast iron is heavy and solid, and the floor should be checked before you order. Acrylic is much lighter and warm to the touch. Compare them in our guide to cast iron vs acrylic baths, or book a free consultation and we can help you choose.
