Natural stone or porcelain from Ca' Pietra

Ca' Pietra began in 1989 as Artisans of Devizes, a natural stone business, and launched under the Ca' Pietra name in 2009. The range now covers marble, limestone and quartzite alongside porcelain, ceramic and terracotta-effect tiles, plus a Ca' Pietra x Sanderson collection that turns British decorative designs into tiles.

The choice usually comes down to character versus upkeep. Natural stone is quarried rather than manufactured, so no two tiles are quite alike, and Ca' Pietra recommends sealing it. Their porcelain needs no sealing, which makes it the easier option for busy kitchens, family bathrooms and hallways. Our guide to porcelain vs ceramic tiles explains the technical differences.

Planning a Ca' Pietra floor

  • Underfloor heating: Ca' Pietra states that all its floor tiles are compatible, except the Minerale range.
  • Wastage: allow around 10% extra for cuts, or 15% for herringbone floors, which create more offcuts.
  • Outdoors: not every material is suitable for exterior use, so check the specification before choosing tiles for a patio.

Will my Ca' Pietra tiles match the sample?

Closely, but not always exactly. Ca' Pietra notes that batch variation is normal, so a sample may differ slightly from the full order, which is why it pays to order the whole job, plus spares, in one go.

How do I clean natural stone tiles?

Ca' Pietra recommends pH-neutral cleaners for natural stone, and makes its own range of cleaners, sealers and protectors to suit its tiles.

What can I compare Ca' Pietra with?

In the showroom you can set Ca' Pietra next to RAK Ceramics tiles and Designer Tiles patterned and porcelain ranges, or look at Ambiance luxury vinyl flooring if you would rather not have a tiled floor. See the full line-up on our tiles page.
