Choosing a large basin
There are three ways to go. A pedestal keeps things classic: the Carlyon large basin is 720mm wide with a 210mm deep bowl, and the Regent large basin and pedestal is 700mm wide and 580mm deep. A metal stand, such as the Regent basin on the Charlotte or wider Hampton stand, keeps the floor open. A console gives the most surface: the Regent 1000mm console basin on ceramic legs or the 1240mm Troon console with a composite top in Concrete, Carrara White Gloss, Nimbus Grey or White Satin. More open-frame options are in our basin stands and washstands.
Large vanity units
The Carlyon Bay large units are 720mm wide, with a painted wooden cabinet that follows the curve of the Carlyon basin above it. The Carlyon Bay large 2-door vanity unit and its 1-drawer version both come in Matt Black, Dartmouth Grey or Sea Mist, with a metal trim in your choice of finish. They also appear in our bathroom furniture range.
How much room does a large basin need?
Allow for depth as well as width, and leave space to stand at the basin with doors and drawers open. The consoles here are 600mm deep and the Regent pedestal is 580mm.
Do consoles and stands show the pipework?
Yes, the trap is visible beneath the open stands, so a matching finished trap is worth including. On the Troon console the tap, trap and waste are sold separately.
Are taps included?
No. Taps and wastes are sold separately, and most basins here come with one or three tap holes, so choose your mixer first. For a smaller room, see our small basins and vanity units, see every option in our bathroom basins, or book a free one-to-one consultation through our contact page.
