Showerwall panel types explained
Showerwall, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, makes three types of waterproof wall panel, and we can supply and fit any of them:
- Laminate: decors across collections including Majestic, Tile, Impression, Original and Arcade.
- Acrylic: lighter panels in patterns, murals and solid colours, with bespoke options.
- Compact: 3mm solid laminate embossed to look and feel like tiles, in five colours from Lily White to Hunter Green.
Panels come in sizes up to 2440 x 1200mm, so a shower enclosure can usually be lined with only a few joints.
Shower wall panels vs tiles
Panels have no grout lines to discolour, take less time to fit than tiling and can go over existing tiles once they have been degreased, so the old tiles need not be stripped out. Tiles give you more choice of shape, size and texture. Our guide to shower wall panels vs tiles compares the two in detail, or browse our tile brands.
Are Showerwall panels completely waterproof?
Fitted with Showerwall's own adhesive, sealant and accessories, they form a waterproof system. Sealant lines should be checked over the years, as all sealants can break down in time.
What guarantee do Showerwall panels have?
Showerwall offers a 30-year warranty against manufacturing defects in a domestic setting, subject to registration and fitting with its branded products.
How do I clean shower wall panels?
Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner such as Showerwall's own. Gloss finishes can show water marks in the same way as tiles, so a quick wipe after showering helps.
Can I plan panels alongside a new shower?
Yes. Choose your shower and taps and panels together so the finishes work as one, and see our bathroom collection for the rest of the room. Book a free one-to-one consultation to compare decors at full size.
