Checking a replacement toilet seat will fit
Measure your pan before you choose. Take the width at its widest point, the depth from the hinge holes to the front of the rim, and the distance between the two hinge holes. Then compare with the seat details: the Windsor soft-close seat is 390mm wide with depth adjustable from 410mm to 445mm, and the Oval soft-close seat is 390mm wide, adjustable from 438mm to 472mm.
If your toilet is from Imperial, the simplest route is to replace like for like. Carlyon close coupled and back to wall toilets come with the Windsor seat, the Carlyon wall hung toilet with the Oval seat, and Lichfield toilets with the Lichfield seat.
Seat colours and hinge finishes
Windsor and Oval seats come in smooth white, natural oak, and Matt Black, Dartmouth Grey or Sea Mist in grained or smooth paint. The Lichfield / Putney seat adds Cashmere, Sage Thistle and Oxford Blue, the same grained colours as Lichfield furniture, so seat and cabinet can match. Browse our vanity units to pair them. Hinges come in five metal finishes, except the Contemporary seat, which is chrome.
Can I buy a toilet seat without a toilet?
Yes. Every seat on this page is sold on its own, and you can see the matching pans in our toilets range.
Are all these seats soft-close?
Yes. Every seat here has soft-close hinges, so the lid lowers gently rather than dropping.
How long does a seat take to arrive?
Chrome hinges take around a week. Other hinge finishes are made to order and take roughly four weeks. Painted Lichfield seats come without a lid lift handle; the natural oak version includes one.
