Choosing an Origins Living illuminated mirror
Origins Living's LED mirrors differ mainly in how the light is placed. Each range suits a different way of using the mirror:
- Cleo: front lit, giving clear light on your face for shaving and make-up. The Cleo round mirror comes in 50cm, 60cm and 80cm.
- Claris: back lit, for a softer glow around the glass. The Claris round mirror runs from 50cm to 100cm.
- Kingsley: front and back lighting that you control separately, so one mirror gives both task light and ambient light.
These ranges are rated IP44 for zone 2 and are Class II, so no earth connection is needed. They have a built-in demister that comes on with the light, touch-sensor controls, dimming, adjustable colour temperature and a colour rendering (CRI) rating of 90 or above. They also remember your dimming and colour settings.
Framed and decorative mirrors
If you would rather light the room with wall lights, the non-illuminated ranges give you more choice of frame. Oslo has stainless steel frames in black, brushed brass, brushed bronze and brushed nickel, while the Porterhouse round mirror is frameless, with a wide bevelled edge on 6mm glass. Demister pads are sold separately for many non-illuminated designs, which is worth adding in a bathroom without a window.

Reading the specification
Compare lumens rather than watts when judging brightness, and check the hanging orientation listed for each mirror, as some designs can be hung two ways and others only one. Our illuminated bathroom mirror guide explains IP ratings, colour temperature and sizing in more detail.
What colour temperature should I choose?
Warm white (around 3000K) is relaxing and flattering, while cooler light (around 6000K) is crisp for close tasks. Claris, Cleo and Kingsley all let you adjust between the two, so you can change it through the day.
Do I need an electrician to fit an illuminated mirror?
Yes. Illuminated mirrors are hardwired, and some electrical work near a bath or shower is notifiable under Part P in England, so use a qualified, registered electrician.
Can I add a demister to a non-illuminated mirror?
Yes, on many designs. The product page lists the matching demister pad where one is available.
Can you help me choose the right size?
Yes. As a guide, pick a mirror slightly narrower than the basin below it. Book a free one-to-one consultation and we will help you choose the size, position and lighting for your room.
